Uterus necklace H | sterling silver

The uterus — the muscular organ that sustains human life from implantation through birth, a structure of remarkable functional plasticity.

The Anatomy of the Uterus

The uterus is a pear-shaped muscular organ with three anatomical regions: the fundus (the dome-shaped upper portion above the fallopian tube openings), the body, and the cervix (the narrow lower segment opening into the vagina). Its wall has three layers: the perimetrium (serosal outer layer), the myometrium (thick smooth muscle that undergoes hypertrophy during pregnancy and produces the coordinated contractions of labour), and the endometrium (the inner glandular lining that thickens during the menstrual cycle under oestrogen stimulation and is shed during menstruation). The endometrium is the site of embryo implantation; its receptivity is regulated by progesterone. The uterine blood supply comes from the uterine arteries (branches of the internal iliac artery) and the ovarian arteries — ligation of both is required to control haemorrhage in peripartum hysterectomy.

FAQ

Q: Would someone in medicine or biology find this meaningful?

A: Yes. Medical professionals, OB-GYNs, and researchers often wear it. It's a direct representation of the organ they study or work with, making it feel personal and purposeful.

Q: What anatomical view is this?

A: This is the H-series uterus shown in horizontal/frontal view, displaying the fundus (upper dome), body, cervix, and fallopian tube openings. It's the view you'd see from the front if looking at the pelvic anatomy head-on.

Q: What are the materials and sizing details?

A: Sterling silver (925), rhodium-plated to prevent tarnish. The pendant is roughly 27 mm tall. It comes on a 45cm sterling silver chain. We can adjust the chain length or switch to gold vermeil if you'd prefer, just ask before checkout.

Q: How is it shipped, and how long does it take?

A: We use DHL Express for all orders, so you can expect delivery anywhere in the world within 1-5 business days. You'll get tracking details as soon as we ship.
